ESOL Queen

I have been introducing my ESOL students to important places in the UK via virtual tours. This is a great way to find out about places without having to worry about money, transport, accommodation etc. (particularly during Covid 19). Just by clicking on a virtual tour places can become a lot more real to students and some of the tours do make you feel like you are actually there! These tours are also a great prompt for students to talk about important places and buildings in their own countries and to write about places which mean a lot to them. I have been teaching English as a foreign language since 2013 and have taught students from over 40 different nationalities at all levels from absolute beginner to advanced. I have taught students in both private language schools and also in the ESOL sector. I primarily teach adults, but I usually teach teenagers in the summer months. I currently work at the Odils Learning Foundation in Plymouth  https://odils.com/ I have a lot of experience preparing my students for both ESOL and Functional Skills in the UK at each level from Entry 1 to Level 2. I love learning about my students' languages and cultures. I can speak a few words in French and Arabic, but I would love to learn more.  My favourite ESOL level to teach is Pre-Entry (absolute beginner) as you can have a lot of fun using realia and helping students to make their first steps into learning English.  It has to be said, one of the best things about my job is trying out my students' food.
